UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS ATHLETICS

Men's Soccer edged by Maryville College

The University of Dallas men's soccer team (2-6) lost 1-2 to Maryville College, Sunday.

In a match where UD was outshot 22-6, Maryville got things rolling in the 25-minute mark, when Tyler Tinker scored from a Ryan Radcliffe assist. The Scots got needed insurance, this time in the 33-minute, when Tom Webster kicked in an unassisted goal to put his team up 2-0.

Webster's goal would prove to be the game winner, as the only score UD would muster was credited to freshman midfielder Michael O'Donnell (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) in the 58-minute. Odonnell, who had three shots on goal on the day, was assisted by senior midfielder/forward Ryan Meske (Niwot, Colo./Niwot H.S).

Crusader freshman goalie Sam Carter (Chicago, Ill.) picked up the loss, while Bryan Walker registered the win for Maryville.

UD now has five loses which have been decided by a single goal. The team will next play at UC-Santa Cruz University on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m.
