UD Men's Soccer Dominates Dallas Christian College UD
The UD Crusaders dominated the field today with a final score of
5-0. They started the game strong and held a 2-0 lead at halftime,
before tacking on 3 more goals in the second half. The team
remained strong and confident throughout the game with the help of
several of their younger players.
Sophomore midfielder Michael Chapman (Madison, MS/St. Joseph
Catholic School) got UD on the board around the ten minute mark,
and UD never looked back. Chapman was assisted by senior co-captain
and midfielder Aaron Tucker (North Richland Hills, TX/Birdville
H.S.). The second goal of the first half was scored by freshman
midfielder Paul Hull (Long Beach MS/St. Stanislaus H.S.), and the
assist was credited to Chapman. With this strong lead, the team
ended the first half even more determined to play better in the
second half.
The first goal of the second frame was put in just under three
minutes into the period by senior co-captain and midfielder Matt
Stamper (Blue Springs, AZ/Bentonville H.S.). Junior
forward/midfielder Phil Conley (Palatine, IL/Palatine H.S.)
continued the scoring spree shortly after that with the help of
junior midfielder/forward Ryan Meske (Niwot, CO/Niwot H.S.).
UD’s final score was by senior forward Mike McIlhon (San
Diego, CA/St. Augustine H.S.).
All three of UD’s keepers saw action in the game. Junior Paul
Stauduhar (Longwood, FL/Lake Mary H.S.) started the game for UD,
before being replaced by freshman Sean Stauduhar (Longwood, FL/Lake
Mary H.S.), and then sophomore Chris Brisky (Hayes, TX/Jack C. Hays
H.S.). Both Stauduhars recorded a save.
The next game for the 4-6-2 UD men’s soccer team is on
Thursday, October 22 against Austin College at Crusader Field. The
game starts at 4:00pm.
