Crusaders Topped at Hendrix on Saturday

CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team dropped a 25-7 final at Hendrix College. It was the team's first setback on the season. Hendrix (2-0) netted the first three goals before Chasen Reynolds (Fallbrook, Calif.) put the Crusaders on the board. It was the lone goal for the visitors in that quartert as another three goals for the Warriors opened a 6-1 lead. 

In the second quarter, Hendrix erupted for 10 goals to go ahead 16-4 at intermission. This included four out of the gate in the quarter to make it a 10-1 score before Dallas got a scoring combination from its pair of freshmen Austin Gibbons (St. Charles, Ill.) from Joe Anderson (Fair Oaks, Calif.). Tyler Smith (Snoqualmie, Wash.) put in the final two goals that frame for the Crusaders. He finished with a team-high three for the hat trick. 

Gibbons and Reynolds also added another goal each to complete the UD scoring on the afternoon. Cole Griffin (Lucas, Texas) was saddled with the loss as he nabbed a career-high 23 saves in a complete game. Anderson led the team with eight groundballs. UD picked up 33. 

Hendrix had exactly 100 groundballs. 10 different players scored for the Warriors led by Spencer Dorfneilsen with six. Drew Scanian followed with five, while Dominic Dachille and Cole Cramer each added three. The team dished 14 assists. 

Patrick Adamo and Taylor Noack split 30 minutes in goal for Hendrix. Noack had five of the team's seven saves and faced eight shots.
