Final Home Game: Men's Lacrosse falls to Colorado College

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team dropped a 17-2 decision on Saturday morning versus Colorado College. The rescheduled 8:30 a.m. tilt concluded UD's home portion of the ledger.

The Tigers matched six goals in both quarters of the first half and maintained control throughout the majority of the contest.

Austin Davie began the scoring nearly a minute into the game to give Colorado College a one goal edge. The Crusaders netted an equalizer a few seconds later out after a faceoff violation gave them their first possession. Freshman Peter Early (San Antonio, Texas) scored an unassisted goal to create a brand new game.

Davie notched a hat trick with the next two goals in about a two minute span to propel CC in front for the remainder of regulation. The guests were kept in check for about three minutes, but in an exact one minute span from the 8:28 to 7:28 mark, did two more Tiger goals get counted. Harrison Raine, assisted from Aaron Maslow, and Chris Brower earned points on the pair of scoring plays.

A 10-0 run was snapped by senior Alex Ziolkowski (Ann Arbor, Mich.) He scored in his third consecutive match on this homestand. Colorado College boasted a 12-2 edge at intermission and would blank the Crusaders in the second stanza.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Dallas attempted 16 shots and placed eight on cage.

- Early and Ziolkowski each shot five times and hit the cage four of them.

- Senior Ryan Murphy (Yorba Linda, Calif.) snagged 25 saves, and was one shy of his season-high in his final home game. Murphy picked up a team-high five groundballs.

- Murphy made 13 stops in the third quarter and 20 total in the second stanza.

- UD went 17-for-31 in successful clears. The Tigers were 24-for-26.

- Brower and Raine led the Tigers with four goals apiece. Davie and Ethan Moore contributed hat tricks.

- Moore was the lone double-digit shooter with 11. His shots on goal percentage was 1.000.

- Nate Sweet led groundballs with eight. Raine and Jackson Kaplan each added six. CC managed 57 groundballs.

- Brice Tucker and Henry Hinds split 30 minutes in the goalkeeper position. The duo each handled three saves.
