Men's Lacrosse topped Saturday by Rhodes College

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team (1-3) fell 20-2 on Saturday versus Rhodes College (2-0). The visiting Lynx produced six goals in both quarters of the first half and built a 12-2 advantage.

Freshman Peter Early (San Antonio, Texas) would score both goals for the Crusaders, building his career-high total to five. The first goal for the midfielder occurred in the opening 15 minutes with 6:47 left and cut the deficit to three (4-1). The team-leader rounded out UD's scoring with just over a minute remaining before the first break.

-Senior Ryan Murphy (Yorba Linda, Calif.) was one save shy of a season-high 22 saves in 60 minutes between the pipes. The program's all-time leader in saves also broke 500 stops in the game once he reached 14 on the day. 

- Early and classmate Ben Blessard (Falls Church, Va.) led the team with four shots apiece. Senior Alex Ziolkowski (Ann Arbor, Mich.) attempted three shots, and won all eight of the team's faceoffs.

- Dallas was outshot 60-15, and 42-7 in shots on cage. Early and Blessard each had three shots land on cage. The Lynx accumulated 41 groundballs compared to UD's 22.

- Leading Rhodes offensively was John Tooher with four goals. Ryan Fennelly also notched a hat trick and led the team with nine shots. Tyler Milwit was right behind with eight shots and was one of a quartet of players with multi-scoring games.

- Overall, RC dished assists on half its scoring plays, with Fennelly and Matt Vavrek with a pair each.

- Matt Kellem worked 45 minutes in the goalkeeper role, and logged four saves in the victory.
