DENVER, Colo. - The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team (5-7) fell on consecutive days, this time by a score of 11-5 at the University of Colorado Denver.
Dallas was outscored 4-2 in the opening quarter. The Lynx defense stymied the Navy and White, limiting them to a single goal the rest of the affair. At halftime, UD trailed 5-3 but a four-goal fourth quarter helped the home squad pull away.
Scoring goals for the Crusaders included: Juniors Matthew Cyr (St. Louis, Mo.) and Alex Ziolkowski (Ann Arbor, Mich.), and seniors Zachary Wellwerts (McHenry, Ill.) and Cody Wooten (Aurora, Colo.).
Cyr notched a multi-goal result to increase his team-high to 35, and Wellwerts scored in his fourth-straight contest.
Junior Ryan Murphy (Yorba Linda, Calif.) recorded 18 saves against 29 chances in the setback. He worked all 60 minutes in the cage.
Dallas continues a seven-game trip to end the campaign on Apri. 11 at Southwestern Univeristy. Start time announced for 1 p.m.
