DENVER, Colo. - The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team (5-6) was defeated 16-8 at Johnson & Wales (3-2) on Saturday afternoon.
A seven-goal second quarter lifted the Wildcats to an 8-2 edge at halftime, after the teams exchanged points in the opening stanza. UD rallied with five in the third to close the gap to 9-7, but the home team pushed a 7-1 stretch to secure the victory.
Scoring the Navy and White were: junior Matthew Cyr (St. Louis, Mo.) with four goals, junior Alex Ziolkowski (Ann Arbor, Mich.) with two, senior Zachary Wellwerts (McHenry, Ill.), and senior Cody Wooten (Aurora, Colo.) with one apiece.
Dallas keeps road trip in the same city with a contest at Univeristy of Colorado Denver on Sunday. Start time is set for 12 p.m. (CT).
