Men's Lacrosse held in check versus Trine University (Ind.), struggles generating offensive attack

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team (0-5) suffered defeat on Sunday afternoon at Crusader Field, falling to a strong Trine University (Ind.) squad, 18-0.

Dallas' starting goaltender Blaise Dufrain (Manassas, Va./Seton School) was peppered with shots throughout the game, as the Crusaders had a hard time clearing their defensive zone.

Though Dufrain let in 14 of the 18 Trine scores, he was able to fend off 12 attempts from the Thunder, finishing the contest with a 46 percent save-percentage before freshman goalie Garrett Kochner (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood West H.S.) entered for the fourth period.

The Crusaders weren't able to generate much offense, recording just two shots on goal. Meanwhile, freshman defender Joey Mullen (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood H.S.) and junior midfielder Chris Kerner led the team with four and three groundballs, respectively.

Dallas looks to turn things around on Saturday, March 12, as the Millsaps College (Miss.) Majors roll into town. An established offensive attack will be key in this 12:00 p.m. match-up at Crusader Field, as Dallas seeks its first win in program history.
