Men's Lacrosse edged in final seconds by Centenary College of Louisiana

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team (0-4) fell on Wednesday afternoon to Centenary College of Louisiana, 11-10.

After riding a wave of momentum that carried the Crusaders to a 10-10 tie and possession of the ball with only minutes remaining on the clock, Centenary stole the ball with a just over 20 seconds left and made it downfield to score with 00:02 left. 

Down 10-7 in the fourth, the Crusaders scored three unanswered while shutting down Centenary's attack to lead to the fateful goal that concluded the Crusaders' first home game in school history. 

Offensively, freshman attack Tony Lemos (Dana Point, Calif./JSerra H.S.) put on a clinic, scoring five goals on six shots on net.  Junior midfielder Chris Kerner finished second on the team in scoring putting two timely goals past the Centenary netminder late in the game. 

Sophomore midfielder Stephen Joseph (Orange County, Calif./JSerra H.S.) scored a behind the back goal and freshman defender Joey Mullen (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood H.S.) chipped two of his own, in addition to registering a team-leading three assists. Joseph and freshman attack Brien Lank (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra H.S.) also had assists.  Defensively, Mullen and freshman midfielder John Owen each had several successful clears throughout the game. 

Dallas will stay at home for their next two games. On Sunday, March 6, the team will host Trine University at 1:00 p.m. at Crusader Field.
