Men's Golf in 10th at Texas Cup

DESOTO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up day one of competition in the Texas Cup hosted by UTD on Monday.  The Crusaders ended the day in last place in the field of 10 teams with a 36-hole score of 622 (+46).  They are 27 strokes from cracking the top half of the table; Mary Hardin-Baylor sits in fifth place with a score of 595 (+19).

LeTourneau University leads the pack with a score of 574 (-2) as the only team under par.

Jacob Mason of Trinity University is the individual leader with a two-round score of 139 (-5).  He has a one stroke lead over Davis Archer of UTD and Zachary Bollinger of LeTourneau.

Michael Zhang is Dallas' leader after 36 holes with a score of 153 (+9).  He shot an 81 in round one, then shot 72 to climb 17 spots on the leaderboard and finish the day T35.

Iain Griggs shot 78 and 76 to finish T39 at +10 for the tournament.  Rex Soulliere is T44 with a score of 156 (+12), Trey Schneider (pictured) is T49 with a score of 159 (+15), and Sean McGarrity is T61 with a score of 165 (+21).  Sei Sato Uehara rounds out the field for Dallas in T65 with a score of 169 (+25).

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow, March 19th, scheduled for an 8:30 am shotgun start.
