Men's Golf Takes Fifth at San Antonio Shootout

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up play in the TPC San Antonio Shootout on Tuesday.  The Crusaders finished in fifth place in the field of eight teams with a three-round score of 770 (+50).  They were 15 strokes ahead of sixth place Webster and four strokes behind fourth place Concordia-Texas.

University of the Redlands claimed first place with a score of 751 (+31), holding a five stroke lead over second place Southwestern University.

After leading on day one, Aaron Buck of Redlands held on to claim the individual title with a 45-hole score of 180 (E).  Drew Hermesmeyer of Schreiner University finished second at +3 for the tournament.

Michael Zhang climbed six spots on the leaderboard to crack the top 10, finishing in sixth place at +9 for the tournament after shooting a 75 in round three.  Iain Griggs and Rex Soulliere finished T15 at +13; Griggs shot a 79 and Soulliere shot a 77 in round three.

Trey Schneider shaved one stroke off his round one score, shooting 77 in round three to finish T21 at +15.  Anthony Prudence finished T41 at +31 with an 86 in the final round.

The Crusaders are off for nearly a month.  They will be back in action at the Texas Cup, hosted by UTD, on Monday, March 18.
