Crusaders Share Fourth Place at Rhodes College Fall Classic

TUNICA, Miss. - The University of Dallas men's golf team finished tied for fourth place at the Rhodes College Fall Classic at the Tunica National Golf Club in Tunica, Mississippi, on Monday.  Iain Griggs and Rex Soulliere lead the way for UD, finishing T13 at +6 for the tournament.  Griggs shot the second lowest round of the tournament with his round two score of 68, only bested by Bill Gussler of Rhodes College who shot a 67 in his opening round.

The Crusaders were only two strokes from finishing in the top three with a final team score of +29.  The 17 team field consisted of programs from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), American Southwest Conference (ASC), North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), and the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).  Dallas was one of just three teams to shoot under 290 for a round as a team; they shot a 289 in round two, and LaGrange College and Rhodes each shot a 286 in rounds two and one, respectively.  

The hosts, Rhodes, won the tournament with a final score of +14.

Trey Schneider finished tied for 27th with a score of +9, five strokes outside the top 10.  Michael Zhang finished tied for 40th at +12, and Anthony Prudence finished tied for 67th at +19.

There are two tournaments remaining on the fall schedule.  Next up for Dallas is the UHV Fall Classic on Oct. 16 and 17.
