Crusaders Finish Seventh at Tempest Intercollegiate

GLADEWATER, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up play at the Tempest Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing in seventh place in the field of nine teams.  The Crusaders swapped places with Hardin-Simmons as the only two movers in round three, finishing two strokes behind the Cowboys at +48 for the tournament. The hosts, LeTourneau University, maintained their sizable lead, taking home the team trophy with a score of -13.

Iain Griggs led the way for Dallas, climbing seven spots with a 73 in round three to finish tied for ninth place.  Trey Schneider dropped a vouple spots with a 78 in round three, finishing tied for 15th at +8 for the tournament.  Michael Zhang rounds out the top three performers for Dallas, finishing T32 at +17 for the tournament with a 79 in round three.

The same five Crusaders who formed a tight grouping on the table yesterday remained largely in the same place, all finishing within four strokes of each other: Rex Soulliere climbed one spot to 42nd (+25), Gus Holleman dropped four spots to 43rd (+29), Sei Sato Uehara climbed five spots to 45th (+28), Antonio Alvarez stayed put at T46 (+29), and Anthony Prudence dropped three spots to tie with Alvarez (+29).  Sean McGarrity rounded out the field for Dallas, staying in 60th with a score of +53 for the tournament.

The Crusaders are back in action about two weeks time for the Rhodes Fall Classic.  The tournament is scheduled to start on Sunday, Sept. 24.
