Crusaders Take 4th, Paciotti and Soulliere Finish Top 10 at West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team warpped up competition in the West Region Invitational hosted by Southwestern University on Tuesday.  The Crusaders finished in fourth place with a three-round score of 911 (+47).  They finished one stroke ahead of Howard Payne University, and were 17 strokes out from a top three finish.  Trinity University took the team trophy with a three-round score of 877.

Travis Skorheim of Concordia-Texas won the individual trophy with a three-round score of 208 (-8).

Karsten Paciotti was a model of consistency, shooting 74 in all three round to finish tied for seventh with his teammate, Rex Soulliere, at +6 for the tournament.  Soulliere was well outside the top 10 with an 81 in round one, but turned and shot a 67 in round two, one of just three rounds under 70 in the entire tournament.  He shot a 74 in round three to stay level with Paciotti.

Paciotti was tied for second with 37 pars, and was one of just five players to record an eagle in the tournament.

Anthony Prudence recorded the best finish and the lowest round of his career.  He finished T15 with a three-round score of 231, including his new career low of 73 in round three.  

After a hot start with a 74 in round one, Jackson Lehner shot 81 and 83 in rounds two and three, finishing T30.  Mason Hitt climbed four spots on day two, shooting a 78 in round three to finish T32 with a three-round score of 239.

Up Next

This was the final regular season event for the Crusaders.  They will now prepare for the SCAC Championship, which begins on Monday, April 17 in Kerrville, Texas.
