Men's Golf Takes First at The Whitney

WHITNEY, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up competition in their spring home event, The Whitney, on Tuesday.  The 35th ranked Crusaders took first place, making it their first event win since winning the SCAC Championship back in 2019.  They finished with a final score of 607, defeating three higher ranked opponents: #21 Trinity finished second (622), #20 Pomona-Pitzer finished third (629), and #31 East Texas Baptist finished fourth (631).

Four of Dallas' six golfers placed in the top 10.  Rex Soulliere went on a mad run up the leaderboard, posting the lowest round of the entire tournament with a 70 in round two.  He couldn't quite catch Jacob Mason of Trinity, the 64th ranked individual in the country, but he finished right behind him in second place four strokes off the lead.

Karsten Paciotti, ranked 30th in the nation, also had a stellar turnaround, shaving off 10 strokes from his round one score to shoot a 71.  He climbed nine spots on the leaderboard to finish in a three-way tie for fourth.

With the surge by Paciotti and Soulliere, Trey Schneider's 77 dropped him a couple of places from his day one second place finish as part of the three-way tie for fourth with Paciotti.  Jackson Lehner, ranked 59th in the nation, dropped four places to finish tied for ninth after shooting a 79 in round two.

Rounding out the field for Dallas, Anthony Prudence finished 22nd at +20, and Mason HItt finished 29th at +27.
