Texas Cup Concludes, Crusaders Take Ninth

PLANO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up play in the Texas Cup at the Courses at Watters Creek on Sunday.  The Crusaders finished the tournament with a two-day score of 601, shooting a 299 on Saturday and a 302 on Sunday.  They finished T9 with Howard Payne, 18 strokes ahead of Randolph-Macon and three strokes behind eighth place Carthage College.

Trey Schneider finished just outside the top 10.  He sat in seventh place after a 73 on day one, and although he replicated that score for day two, he was overtaken; a tie for seventh and a four-way tie for ninth landed Schneider at 13th, just one stroke behind the top 10 and four strokes form a top five finish.  Karsten Paciotti and Jackson Lehner tied for 27th with two-day totals of 150, Paciotti shaving six strokes from day one to climb the leaderboard and Lehner dipping slightly from a T21 finish on day one.  Rex Soullierre finished +11 for the tournament with a total score of 155, and Mason Hitt finished with a total score of 162.

The Crusaders are back in action in two weeks.  They will wrap up the regular season at the Rhodes Spring Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee starting on Sunday, April 3.
