Montalvo Selected UD Men's Golf MVP
IRVING, Texas – Emilio Montalvo from the University of Dallas men's golf team was tabbed the Team MVP for the 2021 spring season. In five tournaments, Montalvo shot the best scores for UD in three of them, highlighted by a 214 in three rounds for a second place individual finish at the Rhodes College Spring Classic. That tournament also featured Montalvo deliver his personal-best score of 66, which was one shy of the low round school record. Montalvo would debut the spring at the Alamo City Classic with a 71 in each of the two rounds to finish in the top 10. He also had the best score for the Crusaders at the SCAC Championship and tied for 11th. Even in the tournaments he did not perform the best, Montalvo was second at one of them and just three strokes off from tying the best team mark in the other. This is the second straight year Montalvo has received the MVP vote from his teammates, as he earned it in 2019, too.
