UD Men's Golf Finish 4th at SCAC Championships

BLANCO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team ended the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship in fourth place on Tuesday.  The Crusaders scored 319 in the third round for a finao tournament score of 922 strokes.

Senior Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) played in his final tournament for the University of Dallas.  Wade dropped to tied for 20th with a final score of 235 strokes.  Wade was also one of six golfers for the tournament to score an Eagle.  Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) ended the tournament with the best score for the Crusaders, dropping to tied for 11th with a score of 226 strokes.  Montalvo was the best player in the tournament on Par 5 holes scoring a total of -9 on all Par 5s for the tournament.  Montalvo was also tied for fourth amongst all golfers in birdies with 12 over the third rounds.

Trey Schneider (Mooreville, N.C.) played in his first SCAC tournament and improved his standings on day two moving up to 17th with a final score of 231 strokes.  Seth McNeil finished in 19th with a final score of 234, and Robby Evans was tied for 27th with a score of 244.

Trinity University won the SCAC Championship with a two day score of 879 for their fifth SCAC title in the sport and their first since 2013.  Texas Lutheran University placed second with a score of 882 and the University of St. Thomas took third with a sore of 904.

TLU's Nick Haley won tournament medalist with his three round low score of 214.  The 2019 Freshman-of-the-year is the second straight Bulldog to win the tournament medalist award.  In 2019, TLU's Colin Uecker won the award.

The highest Trinity finish was Holden Wisener in second place with a 217, and the best finish for St. Thomas was Jonathan Miller third with 220.

The SCAC Championship concludes the 2020-2021 season for the Crusaders
