UD Men's Golf Battled in Plano this Weekend at the Texas Cup

PLANO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team completed the Texas Cup in Plano, Texas on Saturday and Sunday. The men's team finished sixth out of 10 teams and had all seven golfers on the men's team competed in the tournament.

Seth McNeil (Flower Mound, Texas) was UD's top golfer of the tournament finishing tied for 22nd place with a score of 152. He had shot a 72 in the first round on Saturday to place in a tie for third. Trey Schneider (Mooresville, N.C.) and Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) placed tied for 25th with scores of 153. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) tied for 32nd with a score of 155. Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) rounded out the official five members of UD's team score of 172.

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) and Mason Hitt (College Station, Texas) competed individually for Dallas and both ended the tournament with scores of 160.

The tournament hosts, the University of Texas at Dallas, won the tournament with a team score of 592 three strokes ahead of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

William Sammons from UMHB was the tournament medalist with a low score of 143.

Dallas is off until April 11-12 at the Rhodes Spring Collegiate. This is the last regular season tournament for the Crusaders before the conference championship.
