Crusaders sit 5th at Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team finished its first round of the Schreiner Shootout on Monday with a 309 score for fifth out of 11 teams. Mary Hardin-Baylor and Trinity University are tied for the top spot with a 299. Concordia University (300) and Cal Lutheran (302) follow. The Crusaders are second among five fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) schools. Southwestern University and University of St. Thomas are right behind at 310 and 314, respectively. Host Schreiner University did not finish. 

Dallas is led by Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) with a 75 and tied for 12th with six other competitors. Jacob Trevino joined Hamm in that sextet with a 75 as well. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) is right behind with a 76, as is Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) with a 77. Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) and Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas) rounded out the UD golfers with an 81 and 82, respectively. 

Leading the individuals is Luis Legarreta from UMHB with a 70 (-2). Trinity's Daiel Nunez is right behind at 71 (-1) and Phillip Schmitz of Concordia University broke even to take third.
