Schuberg, Crusaders Win Hendrix College Dual #3 on Saturday

CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Dallas men's golf team prevailed in a 18-hole dual match with Hendrix College on Saturday at the Conway Country Club. The Crusaders posted a 313 and were one stroke off from tying its lowest single round in the spring, which was earned in the first 18 at the Pinecrest Intercollegiate.

Dallas won its second tournament in 2016-17 with the other occurring in the Hendrix Dual #2 last fall hosted at DeSoto, Texas. That competition had been decided by three swings (333-336), whereas Saturday's match saw UD win by 17 (313-330).

Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) had prevailed in the individuals in that same competition the last time these schools met on the links. The lowest shooter on the campaign took first again against the Warriors with a 74 (+4) besting everyone. The sophomore was two strokes away from matching a personal low.

A trio of players were even for second by shooting 76 (+6) apiece. Kevin Austrian and Nick Hancock were the two players from Hendrix in the midst of this tie. UD's Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) completed the three-way tie and was one stroke off his lowest mark on two occasions at Pinecrest.

Oliver Rivers (Horsham West Sussex, England) and Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) respectively posted an 81 and 82. Rivers shot his lowest round of the spring.

Dallas and Hendrix will play a separate 18-hole competition tomorrow.
