Men's Golf in 5th after Day 1 at Hal Sutton Intercollegiate

BOSSIER CITY, La. – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed day one of the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate hosted by Centenary College at The Golf Club at StoneBridge. Dallas scored 321 as a team and sit in 5th place out of seven teams at the end of the first round.

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) matched a personal low scored 76 from last fall at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor Invitational to pace the Crusaders. He cracked the top 10 and is tied for ninth in the individual standings.

Classmate Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) shot +5 par (77) and is one stroke behind the team leading freshman. Hamm slots tied for 11th. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) rounded out the top three by shooting a 79.

Tyler Junior College led after the first round with a 280 overall. Marco Maldonado (68), Henry Bryden (69), and Oliver White (71) are among the top three individuals. Lane Roye also tallied a 71 from McMurry University, who checked in second with a 300. Jacksonville College (TX) and Howard Payne University each shot a 314 and are seven strokes in front of the Crusaders.
