Hamm leads Men's Golf with career-low; Men's Golf sets Low Round Record with 308

KILLEEN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team improved by 16 strokes to compile a 308 on Tuesday in the second round of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invite. The Crusaders remained in 10th place and finished with a 632 over the two-day stretch. UD's 308 was 8th best on the round and broke a school record for a Low Round by a single-stroke (309) that was set in the second day of the Louisiana College Fall Invite on September 20 last month.

Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) set a new personal best with a 73, improving by one stroke in his collegiate debut at the Louisiana College Fall Invite. Hamm's season-low led all the Crusaders over the tournament for both rounds and secured the freshman a tie for 15th with a 150.

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) also improved on a career-best by a stroke with his 76 on the day. He would compile a 161 over the entire two-day competition. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) finished second place within the squad by tallying a 157 overall. He finished with an 80 on Tuesday after matching Hamm with a team-low 77 on Monday.

Oliver Rivers (Horsham West Sussex, England) shot a career-low of 79 and finished with a 164 overall.

Host School Mary Hardin-Baylor prevailed shooting a 558 (283, 285) in the tournament for first place as a team. Mats Heien (70, 66) won with a 136 and Alden Fortner (70, 69) took second with a 139. The duo led as four of the top five places went to the Crusaders.

SE Oklahoma State's Sam Berry (72, 68) completed the top five by taking third with a 140 individually. His performance helped cement the team in second place with a 579, while Mary Hardin-Baylor's second team shot a 586.

Individual Standings

Dallas wraps up the fall portion of its season at Tribute Golf Club located in The Colony Texas. Texas A&M-Commerce will host the two-day tournament on October 31-November 1.
