Schuberg leads Golf with 1st Place Finish; Dallas prevails over Hendrix Sunday

DESOTO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team rebounded with a victory on Sunday another Hendrix College Dual at Throntree Country Club. Dallas improved on the course by nine strokes from the previous day and notched a 327. That was 10 swings better than the Crusaders' opposition as Hendrix accumulated a 337. This is the first team win for the Crusaders since the Arlington Baptist College Dual in April 14, 2015. It is the first time since 2010, that UD topped the Warriors in a duel that was in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) won the tournament round with his second lowest total this fall of 76 (+4). That mark was one better than the Warriors' Kevin Austrian, who was the team leader for the second straight day.

Rounding out the top three was a pair of players, one from each program, UD's Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Hendrix's Nick Hancock. The pair of golfers each hit 79. Hamm has shot under 80 in all four rounds during the beginning of his collegiate career and has been one of the top two performers on the squad each time on the green.

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas), Oliver Rivers (Bath, England), and Matthew Nickel (Wichita, Kan.) rounded out the Dallas participants with respective scores of 85, 87, and 88.
