Golf falls shy in first Hendrix College Dual on Saturday

DESOTO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed the first Hendrix College Dual on Saturday at Thorntree Country Club. The Crusaders came up just shy in the two-team competition, posting a 336 and falling three strokes. Hendrix logged a 333 on the afternoon.

Dallas was led by Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) with a score of 79 and a second place finish. It is the second round out of three opportunities this fall which the freshman has notched the lowest team score. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.), ranked right behind his teammate with a third place showing of 81.

The Warriors' Kevin Austrian won the tournament individuals with a 77. His teammates Will Hughes and Nick Hancock followed with 85 strokes apiece.

Both squads tee off on the links tomorrow at 1 p.m. It will be scored as a separate tournament.
