Schuberg posts Career-Best; Men's Golf concludes SCAC Championships on Tuesday

BLANCO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team concluded the final day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) at the Vaaler Golf Club. After inclement weather halted the first round of the tournament on Monday, the athletes completed it Tuesday morning. A full 18-holes for the second round followed as six SCAC men's golf squads finished 36-holes overall.

Dallas ranked sixth as a team, and was led individually by freshman Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) with a 166 overall. He posted a career-low and team-low for the Crusaders in the second round with a 75 (+3 Par). His performance slotted the freshman in 22nd in the league standings.

Sophomore Oliver Rivers (Horsham West Sussex, England) totaled a 182 over the 36 holes. This included an 89 in the first round to lead all members of the Navy and White.

Overall this year, Schuberg and Rivers were the two members to compete in all seven UD competitions. Dallas has completed the 2016 campaign.

Tyler Gammill from Southwestern University claimed the individual SCAC Championship with a 141 (70, 71) overall. He shot under three even. Trinity's Travis Hindle was one under par for a 143 (71, 72) and followed for second. Schreiner's Phil Stewart rounded out the top trio as the final competitor to not break over par. He was even with a 144 (75, 69), but hit a round-low in the second 18-hole trip.

In the team category, the top three finishes were separated by one shot. Southwestern earned the SCAC Championship with a 591. Trinity and Schreiner, respectively, took second and third with a 592 and 593.
