Men's Golf competes in Hal Sutton Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday

BOSSIER CITY, La. – The University of Dallas men's golf team competed at the Golf Club at StoneBridge course the past two days in the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate hosted by Centenary College of Louisiana. Altogether, nine institutions were represented by athletes participating and seven qualified for the team results.

Two members of the Crusaders finished in the individuals. Freshman Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) and sophomore Oliver Rivers (Horsham West Sussex, England) suited up for the third tournament this spring season. Schuberg matched an 84 in both rounds to place 21st in the standings. Rivers totaled a 195 (97,98) for UD.

Tyler Junior College won the title and placed the top three individuals in the rankings. Headlining the group was Marco Maldonado, who tallied a round-low of 69 on Monday. He added a 74 on Tuesday to accumulate a 143 for the best score. Teammates Trip Hobson and Oliver White rounded out the trio with respective scores of 148 (73, 75) and 150 (74, 76).

In the team finishes, California Lutheran claimed second with a 613, and Howard Payne notched third with a 641.

Dallas completes the campaign at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship on April 18-19 at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas.
