Men's Golf Mary Hardin-Baylor Results

KILLEEN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed two rounds in a two-day tournament hosted by University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Monday and Tuesday. The Crusaders finished 15th in the UMHB Invite with a total score of 701 (348,353).

Leading Dallas individually on both rounds was freshman Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) tallying an 82 and 84, respectively, to garner a final line of 166 and 22 over par. After a tough first day, sophomore Matthew Nickel (Wichita, Kan.) bounced back to shoot an 85 on Tuesday. He equaled a 178, which was the second highest for UD.

Right behind Nickel for third on the squad was freshman Peter Trevino (Dallas, Texas) with a 179.

Tyler Junior College would prevail in the whole tournament, logging a 575 (286, 289) while boasting the lowest scores on both days of the contest. They were the lone program to shoot under par (-1) in the final rankings. Fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) school Trinity University notched second with a 589 (296,293). Rounding out the top three in the team scores was McLennan Community College with a 590 (294, 296).

In the individual standings, two players would record scores four under par to earn a tie for the tournament title. Trip Hobson from Tyler JC and Logan Dent from Howard Payne University achieved the scores – 140. The duo did it in the same fashion with a 69 on round one and 71 on the latter round. Mats Heien from the host institution, UMHB, would complete the top three slots with 71 scores on both 18-holes to display a 142.
