Men's Golf West Region Invitational Day 2 Results

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed the final round of day two in the West Region Invitational hosted by Southwestern University. Dallas compiled a 383 score as a team in the last round of 18 holes.

Overall on the two-day event, the Crusaders tallied an 1160 mark.

Leading UD individually was freshman Chris Eckes (Fort Smith, Ark.) with a 234 overall. He stroked a 76 in the third round, two off from his best match in the spring campaign; which was notched during the second stanza of this tournament.

Eckes has paced the Navy and White in every contest this season, and his efforts knotted him with 15th overall in the rankings.

Fellow classmate Matthew Nickel (Wichita, Kan.) totaled a 275, and tallied his lowest round during the second trip through 18 holes on day one with an 86.

Claiming the title was Schreiner University with a 910 (298, 304, 308), followed by Southwestern University 919 (323, 301, and 295). Rounding out the top three was another Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) foe in Trinity University 922 (314, 307, and 301).

Handling the individual rankings was Texas Lutheran University's Adam Peterson garnering a 219 (79, 71, 69). Concordia's Jack Cersosimo totaled a 221 (73, 76, 72) and Schreiner's Cheyne Kendall 221 (71, 76, 74) wrapped up the trio of players.

NEXT TOURNAMENT

Dallas heads to the SCAC Tournament on April 20-21. Vaaler Golf Club in Blanco, Texas, is the site of competition.
