Day 1 Men's Golf Results at West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed day one of the West Region Invitational. Dallas was in eighth place after two rounds of the tournament.

Headlining the Crusaders with team-highs in both rounds was freshman Chris Eckes (Fort Smith, Ark.). The rookie shot an 84 in the first round, and then notched a season-low this spring with a 73 in the latter 18-hole trip.

Eckes is tied for 17^th with a 158 entering the second day tomorrow.

Freshman Matthew Nickel (Wichita, Kan.) ranked second on the squad with a 97 and 86 to compile a 183 altogether.

Dallas completes the final round Tuesday.
