Senior Kyle Callahan Named Golf MVP

Among the contingent of four seniors, Kyle Callahan (Shawnee Mission, KS/Rockhurst H.S.) stood out the most as he led his team in most golf matches during the 2009-10 year on his way to being named team MVP.  After missing two matches in the fall, Callahan led the squad in four of five other events he entered.  He shot a low round of 79 (twice), and an 80, 81, 82, 83, 85, and 88 for an average of 82.1 in eight rounds.  He won a dual meet, finished third in another, and finished in a tie for fifth out of 55 competitors in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament on his way to being named First Team All-Conference.

Showing his high commitment to academic excellence, Callahan was one of five athletes inducted into the latest class of Phi Betta Kappa, and the two matches he chose to miss were for academic reasons.  The Economics major and Premed minor student earned three letters at UD before graduating.
