UD Golf Team Participates in NEAC Tournament, Two Named All-Conference

The University of Dallas golf team played in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at Pennsauken Country Club in Pennsauken, PA this past weekend with a shot at taking home the conference crown but settled for a fourth place finish in the two day event. After the first round the team was in fourth place with a score of 345, and improved over ten strokes with a 334 while tying for third in the second round only to walk away with a fourth place finish.  Dallas' fourth place finish at 679 was only ten strokes behind the third place SUNY-Cobleskill Fighting Tigers in the ten team tournament.

In the first day, Dallas was led by senior Kyle Callahan (Prairie Village, KS/Rockhurst H.S.) who paced the team with a score of 41 on the front nine and a 38 on the back for a round of 79.  Junior Brady Bulmanski (Batesville, AZ/Batesville H.S.) followed closely behind in second on the team with a round of 81, while senior Corey Grant (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain H.S.) finished third on the team with his 87.

In round two Dallas improved their performance to try to climb up the leader board with a 334, good enough for third place on the day along with the Fighting Tigers from SUNY-Cobleskill. Callahan and Bulmanski were UD's top two finishers along with Grant. Grant and Bulmanski finished with 82 while Callahan led the team again for a final number of only 80. Callahan was named First Team All-Conference for his 159 and Bulmanski received Second Team All-Conference with both rounds totaling 163 for the weekend. Callahan's total of 159 was only 9 strokes behind the top finisher for the weekend.

The team finished their season as strong as they began it and will look forward to new members next year as four of the nine team participants will be graduating in May: Kyle Callahan, Corey Grant, Clay Evans (Richardson, TX/Richardson H.S.), and Andrew Oswik (Doylestown, PA/Holy Ghost Prep).
