COLUMBUS, Miss. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team defeated MUW 85-55 on Sunday, improving to 2-5 on the season as they wrap up pre-season play.
Though the play was relatively even for much of the first period, the Crusaders looked the better side and were firmly in control of the game. They led by as many as 13 points in the first half and went into halftime with a 10-point lead on the back of phenomenal offensive performance. Dallas shot 59% from the field and were 50% from three, going 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
The Crusaders wasted no time in increasing their advantage, taking a 19-point lead five and a half minutes into the second half. They took a 20-point lead with just over eight minutes remaining and never dipped below that mark again as they continued to pile on the points.
Dallas finished the game shooting 59.6% (34-of-57) from the field, their best single-game shooting percentage since January of 2019.
Five Crusaders scored double-digit points: Kelton Coleman (15), Jack Boyle (14), Marcus Jaurez (13), Johny Olmsted (13), and Zac Olmsted (10). Johny Olmsted has now scored 36 points and shot over 75% from the field in his last two games.
