Men's Basketball Drops Tough Battle with Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team lost their conference match against Schreiner University 103-67 on Saturday.  They fall to 9-15 overall on the year and 3-12 in conference play.

Play was quite even for much of the first half.  Schreiner took the lead early, but Dallas was still well within striking distance more than halfway through the period keeping the deficit to single digits.

The Crusaders were trailing by just five points after 10 and a half minutes, but from there Schreiner began to steadily build their lead.  Dallas did well to stay in the game in the first half, never allowing a run of more than eight points by the Mountaineers.

But Schreiner made more than they missed and had themselves an 18-point advantage by the end of the first half.  They kept up that momentum in the second half, and Dallas never quite had an answer for them.

Jack Boyle led the team with 12 points, going 6-of-10 from the field while snagging seven rebounds.  Matt Holloway and Jamal Leftwich each added 10 points, and Letrell Toussaint led the team with eight rebounds.
