Crusaders Fall to Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team lost their conference match with Centenary College 90-70 on Friday night.  They fall to 4-7 overall on the year and 0-4 in conference play.

Both teams came out of the gate shooting well.  The Crusaders led for much of the first half, sinking eight of their first 10 shots.  Centenary weren't too far off, going 6-of-12 in the same span and were never down by more than five points.

Dallas was leading 24-21 with eight minutes left in the first half, but the Gents came roaring back with 29 points to take the lead.  They let loose a flurry of three-point attempts, going 10-of-22 in the first half.  The Crusaders struggled to finish in those final minutes, making just four baskets the rest of the half as Centenary took a 50-34 lead into halftime.

The Crusaders were strong in the second half, going 14-of-30 from the floor with the edge in three-point shooting (40%), but could not cut into the deficit as Centenary matched them blow for blow and handed them their fourth conference defeat.

Letrell Toussaint led the team, coming off the bench to score 19 points with 14 rebounds in 29 minutes for his second double-double of the season.  Matt Holloway and jacob Giunta each added 11 points, with Giunta also grabbing seven rebounds.
