Strong Second Half Not Enough for Crusaders vs Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team lost their conference match with Colorado College 83-66 on Friday.  They fall to 2-6 on the year and are 0-3 in conference play.

Dallas struggled out of the gate, missing their first 12 shots of the game and allowing Colorado to take a 20-2 lead eight minutes into the game.  Though the game tightened up considerably from there, the Crusaders were never able to overcome the early hole they dug.

They got the deficit down to nine points with four and a half left in the first half, that would be the closest they got to matching the Tigers.

The Crusaders were better from the field in the second half and were excellent from the free throw line at 16-19.  Jack Boyle and Zac Olmsted did the bulk of the work there for Dallas, going 7-9 and 6-7, respectively. Both teams were electric from beyond the arc, with Colorado shooting 41% and Dallas shooting 44% from three.

Marcus Juarez led the team with 19 points, going 7-13 while playing 23 minutes, the most he's played this year since returning from injury.  Olmsted had 11 points, four assists and four rebounds, and Boyle had another double-double with 11 points and leading all players with 12 rebounds.
