Crusaders Defeat Austin College on the Road

SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team won their conference matchup with Austin College 70-54 Tuesday evening.  They improve to 7-13 on the year and 5-7 in conference play.

The Roos, who are trying to fight their way out of the basement of the conference standings, controlled things early on in the game, taking the lead and holding it for the first eight minuntes.  But the Crusaders quickly flipped the script with a 16-0 run, taking a 29-16 lead with nine and half minutes left on the clock.  Dallas would lead by as many as 15 points in the half, and went into the break with a 44-32 lead.

The Crusaders never looked like wavering as they extended their lead to as much as 22 points in the second half.  They were so comfortable, that as the Crusaders themselves are fighting for the last postseason slot, head coach Matt Grahn had no reservations rotating the squad.  Jai Love and Marcus Juarez, both averaging over 30 min/game going into tonight's contest, came out of the game with 12 minutes left and were rested the remainder of the game.  Every player for the Crusaders touched the court, with four subs tallying at least 12 minutes.  The Crusaders grip on the game never loosened, as they saw out their fourth win in five games.

Jai Love had a very efficient night, scoring 21 points in 22 minutes shooting 7-10 from the field, 3-3 from three, and 4-4 from the line.  Letrell Toussaint picked up another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
