Crusaders Cruise to Win vs Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team won their conference matchup with Southwestern University 81-69 Tuesday evening.  They improve to 6-13 on the year and 4-7 in conference play.

Though they were supposed to play them the very next weekend, the Crusaders needed to wait 17 days to get their revenge after suffering a 68-66 loss to the Pirates at home on a buzzer-beater.  This time, the Crusaders left no doubt as to who might win in the final seconds as they put together one of their best all-around performances of the season.  As a team, they scored the second most points (81), second most field goals (29), and posted their second best shooting percentage (50.9) of the season to record their biggest win of the season.

Things were tight after the first half, but the Crusaders pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 16 points.  Defensively, they were excellent, holding the Pirates to 39% shooting for the game, and only sending them to the line twice in the entire second half.

Dallas had four starters with 10+ points on the night.  Jai Love led all players with 24, with Cameran Hyde right behind with a season-high 22 points.  Letrell Toussaint and Jack Boyle each had 14, with Boyle leading all players with 14 rebounds, including 12 defensive boards.
