IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team's contest with Trinity University, originally scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, has been postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 protocol compliance. The status of the contest is subject to change, with no official reschedule date announced as of yet.
The Crusaders played three games over the last six days; one non-conference game with Luther College (IA) followed by two conference opponents, Colorado College and the University of St. Thomas. The team was shorthanded in the first two contests, also the result of COVID-19, suffering 21 and 23-point losses in those games, respectively. Things went much better when they were back to full strength against the Celts this Sunday, though they still endured an 81-72 loss. Jack Boyle, one of the Crusaders key bench players, was among those missing from the first two games who made his return against UST. He continues to make his case for 6th Man of the Year, as he recorded his fourth double-double of the season, leading all players with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
For now, the focus will shift to their next matchup with Southwestern on Saturday, January 15. The Crusaders will be hosting, tip-off schedule for 4:00 p.m.
