UD Men's Basketball Has Crucial Trip to Colorado College this Weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team prepares to conclude the regular season with a pair of road games against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Colorado College. Last season Dallas swept the season series with the Tigers winning at home 67-64 and on the road 72-64.

Leading up to the series Dallas split a pair of road games against Schreiner University while Colorado was swept by reigning SCAC tournament champion Centenary College of Louisiana. This season UD has a record of 4-2 while Colorado is the only SCAC team still in the winless club at 0-6.

Game time in Colorado Springs will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 and 4 p.m. Feb 28.

Things to note:

UD's Jai Love (St. Louis, Mo.) is leading the team scoring 15.5 ppg, which ranks second in the SCAC.

Jacob Giunta (Keller, Texas) scored a season high 23 points against Schreiner back on Feb. 6.

UD registered its highest scoring game of the season and highest scoring series of the season against Schreiner earlier in February. UD scored 98 points against the Mountaineers on Feb. 6 and 177 total points in the series.

Colorado's Jack McCrosky is 4th highest leading scorer in the SCAC at 15.3 ppg. However, McCrosky missed both games against Centenary on Feb. 8 & 9.

Trey Crawford was the only Tiger to score 10 points or more in both games against Centenary.

Colorado held Centenary to under 60 points in both games of their series earlier this month.

Earlier this week, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced a change to its traditional conference tournament format. Instead of the round robin at one location, there will be play over three weekends in the next month.

First round play will be conducted the weekend of March 5-7, semifinals are scheduled for March 12-14 and the men's and women's championship will occur the weekend of March 19-21. The top four seeds will host first round games on both the men's and women's side, and the top remaining seeds will host semifinal and championship rounds.
