Men's Basketball All-Conference Awards Announced

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced the 2015-16 All-Conference Men's Basketball Selections. Voting is completed by the head coaches of all eight teams in the SCAC, and announced following the final semi-final game of the men's basketball tournament.

The University of Dallas placed three members with All-SCAC Honorable Mentions. Making up the trio of juniors included: Lorenzo Gonzalez (San Antonio, Texas), Michael Sarrat (Colleyville, Texas), and Tom Kaiser (Nashville, Tenn.). It is the first time any of them have received votes for the postseason honors.

Gonzalez shattered personal highs in points (350), rebounds (96), steals (37), and assists (112). The point guard finished second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points-per-game and second in the conference in assists-per-game (4.5) and total assists.

Sarrat also topped his career-high in points with 321 on the year, and led the team in averaging 12.5 points on the campaign. The guard led the squad with 43 made three-pointers and shot a 41.7-clip from behind the arc. That percentage ranked Sarrat fifth in the SCAC.

Kaiser finished with career-highs in scoring with 253 points and rebounding with 192. The forward led the team in total boards and ranked third in the conference most of the season by averaging 8.3 a contest. Kaiser recorded eight doubled-doubles on the year. He also was top five in the league with a career-high 33 blocks and 17 versus SCAC opponents.
