@UDallasMBB knocks-off Rust College (MS), 90-78

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (6-5, 0-1 SCAC) snapped their three-game losing-streak with a 90-78 victory over Rust College on Monday night at the Maher Athletic Center.

In a game with three lead changes, the Crusaders led for good at 18:33 of the first-half.

Head coach Jarred Samples' squad took a 43-25 advantage into halftime, after limiting the Bearcats to an 8-of-27 (29.6 percent) clip from the field in the opening period.

Dallas led by a game-high 20 points in the second-half, but a 22-10 run by Rust pulled them to within eight points of tying the score with 1:03 remaining in the contest.

The navy and white persevered, however, to a 12-point win, as they converted 32-of-60 (53.3 percent) attempts from the floor in total. 

Kwahmere Gredic tallied a game-high 20 points for Rust in 38 minutes on the court, and each team had four student-athletes enter double-figure scoring.

Nate Wilson (Fairbanks, Alaska) recorded a team-high 19 points for Dallas. The senior guard also added seven rebounds (two offensive), two assists and a steal in 35 minutes of play.

Junior forward Aaron Wyatt (Frisco, Texas) netted 16 points, while freshman forward/center Tom Kaiser (Nashville, Tenn.) and junior guard Blaine Blackburn (Midlothian, Texas) contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

With a number fo statistical categories proving similar, the Crusaders finished with a 28-18 positive margin in bench points.

In their second conference game of the season, Dallas hosts Centenary College of Louisiana (5-5) in a 6 p.m. tip-off on Friday.
