@UDallasMBB subdues Southwestern Adventist, 86-66

KEENE, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (5-2) fought to an 86-66 victory over Southwestern Adventist University (SAU) on Wednesday evening at Leiske-Pultar Gymnasium.

The Crusaders held a 41-28 halftime advantage, after leading by as many as 18 points (43-25) in the first-half.

The Knights pulled within two points (45-43) of evening the score -- with 16:08 left in the game -- following a 15-4 run to open the final period.

Over the next 3:19, Dallas rebuttled with nine-unanswered points to capture another double-digit margin (54-43). 

Head coach Jarred Samples' squad ballooned their lead to a game-high 27 points (82-55) with 2:43 to go in the contest. 

Junior foward Aaron Wyatt (Frisco, Texas) tallied a team-high 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds (three offensive) to garner a double-double. He added three assists, two steals and a block in 25 minutes on the court.

Senior forward/center Ross Davidson (Dana Point, Calif.) and senior guard Nate Wilson (Fairbanks, Alaska) rounded-out double-figure scorers for the navy and white. The duo poured-in 15 and 14 points, respectively. 

One of three from SAU to amass double-figures, Terry Eichelberg ended with a game-high 22 points.

In addition to netting 10 more free throws than their counterpart, the Crusaders finished with notable positive margins in rebounds (45-30), points off turnovers (22-6), points in the paint (38-30), second-chance points (20-6) and bench points (30-8).
