Men's Basketball holds off Austin College, 60-57

SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (10-6, 5-2 SCAC) prevailed 60-57 over Austin College on Friday evening at Hughey Gym, after three Crusaders scored in double figures. 

Austin (3-15, 0-8 SCAC) garnered an eight-point lead at 10:16 of the first half, but Dallas booked to a 27-26 halftime advantage thanks in part to a 6-of-8 mark from the charity stripe. 

The Crusaders started the second-half on a 6-0 run to possess a nine-point lead, their largest of the contest. 

Antoine Thompson finished with a game-high 17 points, including 15 in the second-half and a pair of free throws with 3:09 remaining to pull the 'Roos within one. 

Nevertheless, Dallas converted 13-of-28 (46.4 percent) from the floor in the half to best Austin by three points. 

Senior forward Tanner Bruffey (Lubbock, Texas) tallied 10 points in the second-half to finish with a team-high 14 for the game. 

Sophomore forward Aaron Wyatt (Frisco, Texas) and junior guard Nate Wilson (Fairbanks, Alaska) added 13 and 12 points, respectively. 

With a number of statistical categories rendering similar results, bench points favored Austin 38-14.

Dallas will combat Centenary College of Louisiana (7-9, 3-5 SCAC) at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, in Shreveport, La.
