Men's Basketball counters with 79-66 dismissal of Berry College (GA) behind Wyatt's 16 points

ROME, Ga. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (7-3, 2-0 SCAC) defeated Berry College (GA) 79-66 on Sunday afternoon at the Cage Center, and have matched their win total from the 2011-12 season. 

Dallas knocked down 14-of-28 (50 percent) from the field in the first-half to claim a 41-33 halftime advantage over Berry (2-8, 0-1 SAA). 

The Crusaders led by a game-high 17 points at 11:53 of the second half, but the Vikings drew to within three points (64-61) of knotting the score with 5:51 remaining. 

Aaron Wyatt (Frisco, Texas) helped steer Dallas to the promised land, as the sophomore forward registered a game-high 16 points in 15 minutes off the bench.

Head coach Jarred Samples' reserves tallied a 35-8 bench-points margin, and Dallas claimed a 23-7 second-chance-points advantage from 14 offensive rebounds.

Junior forward Ross Davidson (Dana Point, Calif.), senior forward Tanner Bruffey (Lubbock, Texas) and sophomore forward Mark Promberger (Phoenix, Ariz.) combined for 35 points and 19 boards, as each entered double-figure scoring in the 13-point triumph.

Dallas resumes conference-play with an 8 p.m. tip-off versus Trinity University (8-3, 2-0 SCAC) on Friday, Jan. 4, in San Antonio.
