Dormant first-half for Men's Basketball leads to 77-64 defeat at Oglethorpe University (GA)

ATLANTA, Ga. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (6-3, 2-0 SCAC) succumbed 77-64 to Oglethorpe University on Saturday evening at Dorough Field House, and in the process snapped their six-game winning streak. 

Dallas trailed 37-23 at halftime, after converting just 8-of-26 (30.8 percent) from the field in the opening half. 

Senior forward Tanner Bruffey (Lubbock, Texas) and sophomore forward Aaron Wyatt (Frisco, Texas) turned it on in the second half, as the duo combined for 29 of the Crusaders' 41 points in the period. 

Bruffey flushed a game-high 19 points, and netted a 3-pointer with 5:34 remaining to move Dallas within eight. 

Oglethorpe (9-3, 1-0 SAA), however, boasted a 13-point victory behind 28-of-55 (50.9 percent) shooting on the game. 

The Stormy Petrels controlled fast-break points (15-6), points-in-the-paint (32-22) and the rebound department (38-30).

Dallas looks to get back on track in a 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday showdown versus Berry College (2-7, 0-1 SAA) in Rome, Ga.
