Assinesi hits game-winner in 62-61 road victory for Men's Basketball over Millsaps College (MS)

JACKSON, Miss. - Backed by Drew Assinesi's game-winning layup, the University of Dallas men's basketball team (6-2, 2-0 SCAC) defeated Millsaps College 62-61 late Wednesday afternoon at the Hangar Dome

Assinesi's (Pasadena, Calif.) big-time bucket with three seconds remaining moved Dallas' winning-streak to six straight games, and helped avenge a 52-46 loss to the Majors (2-7) from Nov. 17 at the Bob Mason Classic in Sherman, Texas.

The senior guard finished with six points and four rebounds (two offensive).

Dallas trailed 31-29 at halftime, and shot 22-of-61 (36.1 percent) on the game.

Junior forward Ross Davidson (Dana Point, Calif.) paired a game-high 17 points with seven rebounds (two offensive).

Nate Wilson (Fairbanks, Alaska) also entered double-figures, as the junior transfer tallied 14 points at guard for the game's second-highest output.

The Crusaders persevered to the one-point win, despite Millsaps owning a 20-of-49 (40.8 percent) clip from the field and a 24-11 bench-points advantage.

Nexts opponent:

Dallas returns to action Saturday, Dec. 29, in a 6 p.m. EST showdown with Oglethorpe University (7-2, 1-0 SAA) in Atlanta, Ga.
