Men's Basketball suffers tough road loss at Trinity University

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team (4-20) was defeated on Saturday evening in a road contest with the Trinity University Tigers, 70-47. 

Two Crusaders -- freshman forward Ross Davidson (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./JSerra Catholic H.S.) and sophomore forward Zach Matthews (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) entered double figures, scoring wise, on a night where Dallas mustered only 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the field. 

Davidson recorded 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field, in addition to sinking 2-of-4 from the free throw line, while Matthews totaled 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, knocking down 3-of-5 three-pointers attempted in the process. 

Dallas struggled slowing down Trinity's offense, as the Tigers for the game sank 48 percent (24-for-50) of their attempts from the field, including netting 42.1 percent (8-of-19) of their three-point attempts. 

The Crusaders had issues in the rebounding department as well, losing this category 46-17 in favor of Trinity. 

Up next, the Dallas will play Austin College in Sherman, Texas, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 8:00 p.m.
