Crusaders Come Up Short On Senior Night

On an emotional final game for the 2010 seniors on the Dallas men's basketball team, the UD squad played a hard fought seesaw battle with in-state opponent Trinity University but fell just short in the final minute of play 63-55. Despite Trinity's hot shooting at 56.8% for the game and their 18 point run to open the game, UD kept battling to force 19 turnovers and make 10 steals to pull ahead midway through the second half.

Offensively, senior shooting guard Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) led in points with 19 on 7-15 shooting while contributing an assist. Another senior, forward Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.) churned out 16 more on 6 of 11 shooting and led the team in rebounds hauling in 10 for a double-double in his final game in a Crusader uniform. Senior point guard Jeff Pritchard (Oak Grove, LA/Frisco H.S.) led in both assists and steals with 4 a piece.

Thank you to the seniors for their contributions to the basketball program.

The UD men have one last regular season game on Monday, February 22 in Longview, TX against LeTourneau University. The game starts at 7:30pm. UD will then head northeast for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament that starts on Friday, February 26. The tournament host and seeding will be announced soon.
