Dallas Falls to Crosstown Rival

In their second to last home game the University of Dallas Crusaders stumbled against Dallas Christian College, losing 62-54. UD jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and then stretched their lead to 10-2. Dallas Christian College responded however, and took a halftime lead of 28-23. UD fought hard in the second half, but was unable to ever regain the lead before losing by 8.

Dallas was led by a trio of seniors who each scored double-digit points. Senior guard Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) was limited to 26 minutes by foul trouble, but scored 13 points and hit all 4 of his free throw attempts. Senior guard/forward Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.) narrowly missed another double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 9 rebounds while adding 3 assists. Senior forward Peter Popovich (St. Louis, MO/Gateway Academy) scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 34 minutes of play.

UD concludes their regular season with senior night on Saturday night against Trinity University in the Maher Center. Six seniors will be honored for their years of hard work and commitment to the UD basketball team. The home finale is at 6:00pm.
